We keep this page short because our approach is simple: we do not run analytics, advertising or social-media trackers, and the site itself sets no cookies. What follows describes exactly what small, technical storage items exist and which outside services receive a request when a page loads.
Storage and requests on this site
- Cookie notice preference (local storage, set by this site)
- Purpose: remembers that you have closed the cookie notice so it does not reappear on every page. Type: local storage, not a cookie. Duration: kept until you clear your browser storage.
- Selected car (session storage, set by this site)
- Purpose: remembers which car you clicked so the enquiry form can be prefilled with it. Type: session storage. Duration: deleted automatically when you close the tab or send the form.
- Google Fonts (Google)
- Purpose: delivers the typefaces used on the site. Type: third-party server request, no cookie set on our behalf. Duration: Google receives your IP address only for the time needed to serve the font file.
- intl-tel-input script (jsDelivr CDN)
- Purpose: powers the phone-number field in our enquiry and airport-delivery forms. Type: third-party server request, no cookie set on our behalf. Duration: jsDelivr receives your IP address only for the time needed to serve the script.
- Leaflet library (unpkg.com)
- Purpose: renders the destinations map on our homepage. Type: third-party server request, no cookie set on our behalf. Duration: unpkg.com receives your IP address only for the time needed to serve the library file.
- Map tiles (CARTO, based on OpenStreetMap data)
- Purpose: displays the map images behind the destinations map. Type: third-party server request, no cookie set on our behalf. Duration: CARTO receives your IP address only for the time needed to serve the tile images.
- Server logs (our hosting provider)
- Purpose: keeps the site secure and helps us spot abuse. Type: standard server log entry (IP address, time, requested page, browser). Duration: kept for a short period, then deleted.
1. Cookies and similar technologies, briefly
Cookies are small text files a website can ask your browser to store so the site recognises you on a later visit. Local storage and session storage work similarly but stay only inside your browser rather than being sent back to a server automatically. Both are ways for a site to remember small pieces of information on your device.
2. No cookies, no analytics, no ad trackers
We want to be straightforward about this: luxurycarrentalswitzerland.com sets no cookies of its own. Neither entry contains your name, email, phone number or any other contact detail. The session entry disappears as soon as you close the tab or send the enquiry form.
4. Requests sent to outside services
A few pages load small files from outside providers so the site displays correctly. Each of these providers receives the visitor's IP address as part of the normal technical request, but none of them sets a cookie for us:
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces used across the site;
- the intl-tel-input library, loaded from the jsDelivr CDN, powers the phone-number field in our forms;
- the Leaflet library, loaded from unpkg.com, and map tiles from CARTO (based on OpenStreetMap data) together draw the destinations map on our homepage.
These are plain file requests, comparable to loading an image, and are not used by us for tracking or advertising.
5. WhatsApp buttons
The WhatsApp buttons on our site set nothing on this site and open WhatsApp only after you tap them. When you do tap one, we record the click itself (the page URL, referrer, language and the prefilled message text) in our own booking system, in the same way we record an enquiry form, so our team can follow up. The conversation that follows happens entirely inside WhatsApp, which is run by Meta under WhatsApp's own privacy policy, not ours.
6. Controlling storage in your browser
You can see, manage and delete local storage and session storage through your browser's settings, usually found under privacy, site data or site settings. Clearing site data for luxurycarrentalswitzerland.com will remove both the cookie-notice preference and the remembered car selection; the cookie notice will simply appear again on your next visit. Because the site sets no cookies, there is no cookie banner to disable beyond this notice.
7. Future changes and consent
If we ever decide to add an optional cookie, for example for a feature that genuinely needs one, we will update this page first and ask for your consent before that cookie is set.
